Last Osprey Banding Tour for 2019

Join Cape Water Tours and Taxi for an amazing opportunity to see osprey fledglings in their natural habitat. In the early summer, our osprey banding eco-tours take the place of our regular eco-tours and present a rare opportunity for our passengers.

Captain Steve will take you to osprey nesting platforms where he will place identification tags on the osprey fledglings before they begin to fly. This practice does not hurt the birds and is done specifically to gather information about the birds such as migration patterns, life span, and behaviors.

These opportunities are few as the optimal time to band these magnificent birds is when they are seven to eight weeks old. Please plan to be flexible if necessary in case we need to modify these dates. We are dealing with nature after all! Thanks!
