Opening at the Cinema Art Theater in Lewes

Beginning May 3, The Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater presents THE BOYS IN THE BOAT an inspirational true story based on Daniel James Brown’s bestselling book by the same name.

The film, directed by George Clooney, is about the 1936 University of Washington rowing team that competed for gold at the Summer Olympics in Berlin. It follows a group of underdogs at the height of the Great Depression as they are thrust into the spotlight and take on elite rivals from around the world. [2023, France, 146 min, Rating: NR]

Pete Hammond of Deadline Hollywood Daily says, “The Boys in the Boat assures us that the triumph of the soul is working together, not apart. It is a simple sentiment to be sure, but watching Clooney’s beautifully constructed period piece it is pretty much all I could think about.

Screening times 2 pm on Fri (May 3) and 7 pm on Wed (May 8).  Admission is $9 for members, $11.50 for general audiences and $5 for students (student tickets available only at the theater box office).
